about

What does it say about a city that it's tallest building is so regularly inaccessible to it's citizens? What does it mean for a city that it's most popular art event, that captured the imagination of a nation, was never repeated, and whose artworks lie forgotten, strewn west along the Clyde?

And where does the Garden Festival still exist, other than in a collection of grainy photographs, and a scrub of forgotten parkland?

Glasgow Garden Festival '18 is the new album by Jamie Scott, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Glasgow Garden Festival, and examines it's heritage. From the sunniest summer the city has ever seen, to a legacy that imagines another world. From the Clydesdale Bank Tower to George Wyllie's Paper Boat. From the Blue Nile's "Tinseltown in the Rain" to Archie Hind's Dear Green Place.
